For Keeps

This London-based indie pop band The Field Mice remains one of the most influential yet overlooked pioneers of the 1990s indie and twee pop scenes. As the flagship act for the legendary Sarah Records, they traded aggressive guitar rock for intimate, atmospheric songwriting. Their 1991 final studio album, For Keeps, captures the band at their creative peak as they blend fragile acoustic melodies with electronic drum machines.

For Keeps reveals a beautiful sonic journey that rewards a full, uninterrupted listen. A major highlight is "Coach Station Reunion," a track that perfectly encapsulates the album's charm with its bittersweet lyrics, driving rhythm, and lush, melodic guitar hooks.

As our short week stumbles forward, For Keeps provides the perfect soundtrack for winding down. Its gentle nostalgia and dreamy soundscapes are ideal for a quiet evening or a reflective commute. Put on your headphones, press play on this hidden 90s gem, and let the wistful melodies of The Field Mice carry you straight through to Friday.
