Recorded 6/18/1988, this iconic album needs no introduction. This is in our DNA.

My personal 101 story is that the Rose Bowl concert is an amalgam of the worst FOMO / jealousy I’ve ever felt: My high school girlfriend (she went to Bolsa Grande, you wouldn’t know her) broke up with me and went with another guy to this show.

I had to hear about the show second hand from friends over the summer. The June gloom turning to a warm day, to the rain, and the food fight, and how Wire sucked (I later discovered I like Wire!)

But regarding the FOMO, not only did I miss this show, but some other guy took my girl. I’m over it now, but I gotta tell you, a 15-year old’s feelings are very strong.

Cue this up in your favorite media player, make sure it’s set to gapless, and turn it up. This is SoCal Gen X’s “Woodstock” and I still wonder what it was like to be there.
