Get Ready

New Order’s 2001 album is a forceful, guitar-driven rebirth that brilliantly rescued them from a lengthy creative hiatus. Moving away from the heavy synth-pop of 1993’s Republic, Get Ready leans into a raw, alt-rock crunch perfectly captured on the massive lead single "Crystal". Tracks like "60 Miles an Hour" showcase Stephen Morris’s seamless blending of acoustic drums with electronics, proving the band could evolve without losing their post-punk edge. Also notable is a smashing guest vocalist performance on Turn My Way.

TRIVIA: Get Ready marks the final studio appearance of founding bassist Peter Hook before his acrimonious departure from the group. Hooky’s signature, high-register melodic basslines anchor the album's best tracks, providing the emotional and rhythmic weight that defined New Order's classic identity.

PLAY HOOKY W/ ME: If you are a fan, you can celebrate this landmark record LIVE because Peter Hook & The Light are bringing their 25th-anniversary tour to the San Diego area to play Get Ready in its entirety. The show takes place Friday, September 18, 2026, at The Sound in Del Mar (https://thesoundsd.com/event-details/13958654/peter-hook-the-light).
